Sidney İşadamları Derneği tarafından düzenlenen iftarda yapılan konuşma/Speech delivered at the Iftar dinner hosted by the Sydney Businessmen Association, 03.09.2009

Distinguished guests,
Distinguished businessmen,

It is a great pleasure to be here this evening on the occasion of the iftar dinner being hosted by the Sydney Businessmen Association.

First of all let me express that this meeting is a clear indication of the togetherness and dialogue which is parallel to the understanding of the meaning of the holy month Ramadan and its role in bridging the dialogue gap among different cultures as well as the members of the society we live in. Thus, I wish you a peaceful and healthy Ramadan month.

Dear guests,

This year we have experienced the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of 1929. It’s been a difficult time for the business and trade circles as the pioneering force of the world economies. Of course, no country including Australia and Turkey were immune to the crisis. However, in recent weeks indications of a recovery are more common thanks to the bold steps taken by the governments and eager efforts by the business circles. We hope this boost towards a full recovery will continue.
